Joanne Martin

Associate Vice President Joanne Martin oversees the planning and operational management of patient care delivery, patient experience enhancement, schedule integration, clinical program evaluation and resource utilization across all Bascom Palmer Eye Institute centers.

Before joining Bascom Palmer Eye Institute, Martin held leadership positions at Baylor Healthcare System in Dallas, TX, Mount Sinai Medical Center and Lenox Hill Hospital in New York, NY and Wills Eye Hospital in Philadelphia, PA. She received her bachelor of science in nursing from Georgetown University and her master of science in nursing administration from the University of Pennsylvania, where she was a W. K. Kellogg Fellow in management at the Wharton School. She earned her master's degree in business administration with finance specialization from Loyola University Chicago.

Martin achieved Fellowship, American Healthcare Executives, Nurse Executive Advanced, Certified Ophthalmic Executive, and Certified Medical Practice Executive designations. She serves as executive sponsor of student projects conducted by UM Department of Industrial Engineering.
