What would we do without nurses? Nurses compassionately guide patients as they face life-threatening illnesses, reassure those going into surgery, help patients cope with extreme stress, and alleviate their suffering every step of the way. Nurses were there with our loved ones in COVID-19 units when we couldn't be by their side.

During National Nurses Week from May 6 to May 12 we honor our Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center and UHealth nurses who serve patients with devotion, courage, and compassion. They are caregivers, innovators, educators, and leaders, steering the profession towards excellence in patient care.

Celebrate a Sylvester nurse today, donate to a fund established by The Pap Corps Champions for Cancer Research that advances education and career opportunities for nurses. Sylvester's partnership with The Pap Corps, one of their largest organizational donors, played an integral role in the Cancer Center's achievement of NCI-designation in 2019, placing it among the top cancer centers in the nation.
