Even if you use sunscreen with a high SPF,
it doesn't mean you can stay in the sun longer. Reapply per directions.

Broad Spectrum
Protection

  • We often see this on many sunscreen products, but what does it mean? Broad spectrum protection means the sunscreen protects against both UVA and UVB rays and you need protection from both. In short, UVB rays cause sunburn, while UVA rays are primarily responsible for tanning the skin and causing wrinkles.

IT'S ABOUT MORE THAN SPF - HOW AND WHEN YOU APPLY MATTERS

• Apply 30 minutes before going outside.

• Reapply every two hours and anytime after you swim or sweat.

• Be sure to cover your entire surface area, including hard to reach places.

• Don’t skimp. Apply a generous amount of sunscreen.

• Don’t forget your lips. Apply chapstick and be sure it has SPF protection.

• Apply on cloudy days. We tend to focus on sunny days or time in the sun, but harmful rays penetrate clouds and fog.

NOT
JUST
SUNSCREEN

• While sunscreen is necessary for sun protection, there are other easy tips to keep yourself sun safe.

• Find shade. It's a relief from the heat and your best protection from direct sunlight.

• Wear sunglasses. Your eyes need protecting too.

• Wear a hat. The sun’s rays will penetrate through your hair to your scalp, so a head cover not only projects your head but also gives extra protection to your face.

• Cover up. Wear long sleeves or pants. The more skin surface that is covered, the less the sun can penetrate.
