Our team is active in several current research studies and has been awarded funding from prestigious national organizations, including the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and the Elsa U. Pardee Foundation. Research completed at the Brain Tumor Initiative provides more treatment options for our current patients and leads the way in developing innovative treatments for the future.

Our multidisciplinary team of more than 100 specialists provides individualized diagnostic and treatment options. For example, we use awake craniotomies for complex tumors to preserve speech, language, and motor function using intra-operative cortical mapping — this allows us to determine the function of each area of the brain before it’s surgically removed. Only a handful of the top neurosurgeons in the United States perform this procedure.
