Dr. Damas is interested in understanding causes for the difference in the prevalence of inflammatory bowel disease-associated dysplasia between Hispanics and non-Hispanics. In her dysplasia project, she investigates differences in nutrition, environmental exposures, genetics and microbiomal diversity that may independently or as an interaction influence IBD outcomes.
