AACR 2019 Annual Meeting Travel Award

Goals and Purpose

Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center (SCCC) is pleased to announce the availability of Travel Awards to attend the AACR 2019 Annual Meeting. These awards are provided to offset a portion of the registration, travel and subsistence expenses incurred in attending the 2019 Meeting. Awards are available for Cancer Center Members, Cancer Center Post-Doctoral Trainees and Cancer Biology Graduate Program Trainees. The purpose of these awards are to increase the Sylvester presence at the Meeting, provide opportunities to develop external collaborations, and enhance the education and training of Cancer Center Trainees.

Description of Award Mechanisms

Sylvester will reimburse up to $2,000 for expenses such as meeting registration, travel, accommodations, and meals (in accordance with UM travel policy). 

Eligibility

Cancer Center Members Travel Award Eligibility

  • Abstract submission and acceptance are required, and the applicant must be the first abstract author or presenter. Only one application may be submitted, per abstract.
  • Cancer Center Members do not need to be a member of the AACR to apply for this award.
  • Only Cancer Center Members may apply. 

Cancer Center Trainee Award Eligibility 

  • Abstract submission and acceptance are required, and the applicant must be the first abstract author or presenter. Only one application may be submitted, per abstract.
  • All Cancer Center graduate students, postdoctoral fellows who submit abstracts and are listed as the presenter of the abstract may be considered for a Travel Award. 
  • The trainee must receive a letter of recommendation by his or her mentor to be considered for the award. 
  • Only Cancer Center trainees may apply (Cancer Biology Graduate Program and Post-Doctoral)

Deadlines

AACR Abstract Submission Deadline: Thursday, November 15, 2018
SCCC acceptance of applications Deadline: Friday, February 1, 2019
