Memory problems can have many causes. Every patient is different, and treating memory loss due to stroke requires a different strategy than preserving memory in a person with late-onset Alzheimer’s disease. At the University of Miami Health System’s Memory Program, we take a comprehensive approach to assessing and diagnosing cognitive aging, so you can be assured that you or your loved one will receive individualized care.

Memory Disorders Center

Established in 1986, the University of Miami Memory Disorders Center (UM-MDC) is one of 13 memory disorder clinics partly supported by the State of Florida Department of Elder Affairs, Alzheimer’s Disease Initiative (ADI). It is a is a collaborative program of the Department of Psychiatry & Behavioral Sciences Center on Aging, and the Department of Neurology.
