Important Update: UHealth and Preferred Care Network Termination, a United Healthcare Medicare Advantage Plan
Preferred Care Network (PCN) has notified UHealth that it intends to terminate its contract effective September 1, 2026.
Our priority is protecting your access to the doctors and care you trust. We remain committed to doing everything we can to preserve access to high-quality care for our patients. With that in mind, we are working with PCN to extend the contract to December 31, 2026. This would provide patients with a window to shift their Medicare Advantage plan to another provider that has UHealth in network.
- Who this impacts: Patients enrolled in the Preferred Care Network Medicare Advantage plan who receive care at UHealth’s Hospital, outpatient facilities, or with UHealth physicians.
- What you should know: At this time, there are no changes to patient care, scheduling, or operations. Please continue to keep your scheduled appointments.
- Please note: This termination is a separate matter from our ongoing negotiations for the UnitedHealthcare Commercial, Medicaid, and International plans.
What This Means For You Right Now
- Nothing changes today: Keep your upcoming appointments and continue to schedule new ones.
- Emergency Care: You will always have access to emergency care at UHealth, regardless of your insurance network status.
- Continuity of Care: If you are pregnant or receiving ongoing treatment for a serious illness, you can apply to keep seeing us during your treatment. Please understand that UHealth does not decide who gets approved. UnitedHealthcare is the only one who reviews these applications, and UnitedHealthcare has the final say on whether you qualify or not.
