Building a Culture to Support Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion

Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion

We define diversity, equity, and inclusion as:

  • Diversity: Encompasses the complex differences and similarities between people, such as gender, race, ethnicity, nativity, age, ability, socioeconomic status, religion, parental status, height, weight, sexual orientation, marital status, work styles, and many other aspects of the human experience.
  • Equity: Ensures all individuals have what they need to succeed and participate fully, accounting for different access to opportunities, status, and rights.
  • Inclusion: Creates a work environment where all individuals are treated respectfully, have comparable access to resources as well as opportunities, and are able to contribute fully to the organization's success.
