Take your Health to Heart

Get Your Calcium Score Checked Today!

Why Do I Need a Calcium Screening?

When calcium builds in your arteries, it can be a sign of heart-related health problems, including atherosclerosis, coronary heart disease, or coronary microvascular disease. A calcium scan is a CT scan of your heart that detects and measures the amount of calcium in the walls of your arteries.

To help protect your heart, the University of Miami Health System has discounted the price of cardiac calcium screening to $25 (prescription required). It's a quick, painless, and precise way to determine your risk of coronary heart disease.

If you have a calcium screening prescription from your doctor, request your screening appointment online or call 305-2-HEART-U (305-243-2788). If you don’t already have a prescription but want to get checked, request a FREE heart risk assessment that includes blood pressure and family history survey. If your free assessment shows you meet the criteria for being at risk of heart attack, you’ll receive a prescription for the $25 calcium screening.

Am I a Candidate?

You qualify for a cardiac calcium screening* if you are a man aged 40-65 or a woman aged 50-65 with any of the following risk factors:

  • High cholesterol, high blood
    pressure or diabetes
  • Family history of
    cardiovascular disease
  • Obesity
  • Smoking

*Those already diagnosed with cardiovascular disease are not eligible for calcium screening.

To take advantage of this calcium screening discount, request an appointment. A doctor’s prescription is required.
