Research Focus

The Burnett lab aims to develop and translate novel therapeutics for cancer, HIV/AIDS, mitochondrial diseases, and other genetic disorders. With co-appointments in the Department of Microbiology & Immunology and the Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center (SCCC), and as a full member of the Miami Center for AIDS Research (CFAR), the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine is an ideal environment to pursue my research interests. I have ongoing collaborations with biologists, gene therapy pioneers, and numerous leading physician/scientists around the country.
