You Have Choices

Most bariatric procedures work by reducing the size of the stomach and changing the way calories are absorbed by the body during digestion. Bariatric surgery causes you to feel fuller and less hungry with a reduced amount of food. Some procedures eliminate gut hormones that cause cravings and trigger binge eating.

Your journey to better health is unique, which is why we offer different surgical procedures and customized treatment plans for every patient. What's more, our multidisciplinary team of highly skilled doctors, nurses, psychologists, nutritionists, fitness experts, and patient advocates will work with you to meet your specific pre- and post-operative needs.

Gastric Sleeve

Also called a laparoscopic sleeve gastrectomy, your surgeon reduces the size of your stomach by creating a small, sleeve-shaped pouch the size of a banana. The pouch is larger than the one created during a gastric bypass procedure, and there is no rerouting of food through the intestines.

Gastric Bypass

Also called a laparoscopic Roux-en-Y gastric bypass, your surgeon creates a small pouch from the top of the stomach, making a bypass so food skips parts of the small intestine. Following the surgery, you’ll need to supplement your diet with additional vitamins and minerals to compensate for those that will no longer be absorbed by your body.

BPD/DS - Biliopancreatic Diversion with Duodenal Switch

The Biliopancreatic Diversion with Duodenal Switch, abbreviated BPD-DS, begins with creation of a tube-shaped stomach pouch similar to the sleeve gastrectomy. It resembles the gastric bypass, where more of the small intestine is not used.

SADI - Single Anastomosis Duodeno-Ileal Switch

The Single Anastomosis Duodenal-Ileal Bypass with Sleeve Gastrectomy, referred to as the SADI-S is the most recent procedure to be endorsed by the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery. While similar to the BPD-DS, the SADI-S is simpler and takes less time to perform as there is only one surgical bowel connection.

Revisional Surgery

Sometimes patients regain weight after their initial surgery. If this happens, we offer both laparoscopic and endoscopic procedures to help them continue losing weight and get their health back on track.
