Young Curso Film Festival
Join us for the 4th YOUNG CURSO Film Festival, a surgical video contest for young ophthalmologists aged 40 years or younger.
Enjoy a Miami-style happy hour where the top videos will be presented, discussed, and awarded. All CURSO attendees are welcome to join the Film Festival and happy hour.

Submission Deadline: Friday, October 12, 2026

*Please note, you must be 40 years old or younger to submit a video, but you can be any age to attend.

Eligibility
- Video submissions must be made by young ophthalmologists aged 40 years or younger.
- The surgery may be performed by the submitting author or a mentor/colleague, with appropriate consent.
- All participants must be registered for CURSO.
- All scholarship recipients are required to submit a video.

- Cataract/Cornea
- Glaucoma
- Retina
- Miscellaneous (all other subspecialties)
Submission Format
- 2-slide PowerPoint presentation
- Embedded video of 5 minutes or less
- Optional voiceover
- File size of 1 GB or less
Slide Requirements
Slide 1 must include:
- 2-slide PowerPoint presentation
- Embedded video of 5 minutes or less
- Optional voiceover
- File size of 1 GB or less
Slide 2 must include:
- Video only
- NO identifiers, including names, institutions, or any identifying information
File Naming
The PPTX file should be named as follows:
LASTNAME_VIDEONAME.pptx
Example:
Gonzalez_Catarata.pptx
Additional Instructions
- Submit interesting surgical videos featuring novel techniques, complication management, challenging cases, or educational content
- English or Spanish narration is accepted
- Ensure background music does not interfere with narration
- Aim for high audiovisual quality
- Carefully proof your submission before uploading
Selection and Awards
- Five (5) finalist videos will be selected by the judging panel and presented during the live event
- Three (3) winning videos will be selected by live audience voting
- Winners will receive free registration for CURSO 2027, among other surprises
