Research Focus
The Neurodegenerative Diseases, Omics, Vision, and Axon Regeneration Laboratory focuses on four key research areas: axon regeneration, intraocular homeostasis, changes in brain visual and non-visual areas due to vision deprivation, and axon regeneration applicable to non-ocular neurodegenerative diseases. This multidisciplinary approach deepens our understanding of neurodegenerative conditions and enhances potential treatment strategies.
Our long-term goal is to halt the progression of irreversible peripheral vision loss through big data-driven experimental research focused on axon regeneration and maintaining intraocular pressure homeostasis. We are also exploring innovative lipidome-mediated strategies for axon regeneration and reinnervation to restore vision.
