Young Curso Film Festival
Join us at our second surgical video contest for young ophthalmologists (up to 40 years of age).
Enjoy a fun “Calle 8” style happy hour, where the best videos will be discussed and awarded.

Video Submission Instructions
- Submit interesting surgical videos, including novel techniques, complication management, challenging cases, or educational cases
- Using the button above, upload files adequately marked with your name and last name as title
- Five (5) minutes maximum, including opening and closing credits and financial interest statement
- Opening credits must include financial interest statements shown on the 1st or 2nd slide, as relevant to your film. If no financial interest, this must be stated on a slide, e.g., “The authors have no financial interest in this presentation.”
- The approved title should appear in the opening credits
- English and Spanish narration (title, subtitle, and soundtrack) is accepted
- Please make sure background music does not interfere with narration
- All formats must be encoded into one of the formats below for acceptance:
• HD (High Definition) 720p format (1280 x 720 resolution at 29.97, 24, 25, 30 or 60 fps) [best balance of quality and file size] - Aim for the highest possible cinematic quality
- Proof your video carefully before uploading
- The best 5 videos will be discussed in the live event and judged by our guest panel
- The final 3 best videos will win free registration for Curso 2025, among other surprises
• HD 1080p format (1920 x 1080 resolution at 29.97, 24, 25, 30 or 60 fps) [best quality but very large file size] HD video should be encoded with H.264 or MPEG-4 codecs.
• SD (Standard Definition) 480p format (720 x 480 resolution at 29.97, 24, 25, 30 or 60 fps). SD video may be encoded with H.264, MPEG-4 or MPEG-2 codecs.
• Apple users: Do not submit your video in AIC format. Your .mov files should contain H.264 or MPEG4.
