Mario Almeida is the regional director for Bascom Palmer Eye Institute’s Satellite Practices. He is responsible for setting operational standards, overseeing patient care quality, and managing the overall operations of each practice to ensure compliance with established protocols. His key duties include leading fiscal planning, budgeting, accounting, audits, disbursements, personnel and space management, and inventory control.
In 2006, Mario came to Bascom Palmer from the Tenet Healthcare System where he served as director of patient access at North Shore Medical Center from 2002-2006. From 1990-2000 Mario held different management roles at Cedars Medical Center in the Patient Access Department. He was then promoted in 2000 to director of patient access at The Miami Heart Institute and subsequently transitioned to direct the patient access team at The Mount Sinai Medical Center from 2000-2002.
