Lina M. Utrera is the executive director of nursing for Anne Bates Leach Eye Center at Bascom Palmer Eye Institute. Lina represents Bascom Palmer at the UHealth executive level and oversees all aspects of Bascom Palmer's nursing practice including planning and operational management of nursing patient care delivery, patient experience enhancement, and organizational nursing administrative activities.
Before joining Bascom Palmer in 2012, Lina was the director of perioperative, endoscopy, outpatient and medical-surgical services at an HCA hospital for over thirty years, while assuming increasing positions of responsibility and overseeing over 100 employees.
She received her bachelor's degree and master’s degree in nursing from the University of Miami. She achieved her advanced nursing practice license as a board certified family nurse practitioner. Lina is nationally certified in perianesthesia nursing by the American Board of Perianesthesia in both the ambulatory and inpatient setting.
