Course Objectives

Upon completion of this course, participants should be able to:

  • Describe and illustrate the basics of ophthalmic ultrasound history and physics
  • Evaluate scan types, devices and probe selection for ultrasonic diagnostics
  • Compare new technologies including annular array devices
  • Manage probe positioning and scan sequences in developing diagnostic skills
  • Analyze critical ultrasound diagnostic concepts in tumor management
  • Develop skill sets for probe positions and scanning techniques utilized in Diagnostic Real-Time B-Scan of the Posterior (10-20 MHz) and Anterior Segment (35-50 MHz)
  • Apply skill sets to improve pattern recognition and diagnostic interpretation
