Objectives
Upon completion of this program, participants should be able to:
- Evaluate diagnostic strategies and evidence-based treatment paradigms for both anterior and posterior segment diseases, with a focus on optimizing patient outcomes and delivering personalized ophthalmic care.
- Compare and implement the latest advances in medical, surgical, and laser-based therapies, including innovations in phacoemulsification, intraocular lens (IOL) technology, microinvasive glaucoma surgery (MIGS), and vitreoretinal surgery.
- Incorporate leading-edge technologies and surgical best practices into cataract, corneal, and glaucoma enhancing surgical precision, clinical efficiency, and workflow optimization.
- Apply modern techniques in vitreoretinal surgery, such as small-gauge vitrectomy, intraoperative OCT, and sustained-release drug delivery systems, to improve visual outcomes in complex posterior segment disorders.
- Integrate artificial intelligence (AI) into clinical and surgical decision-making, gaining practical knowledge on AI tools that support diagnostics, surgical planning, imaging analysis, and practice management. Attendees will engage with dedicated AI modules to explore how these technologies are reshaping ophthalmology and how to responsibly implement them in diverse practice settings.
- Adapt global innovations to regional needs, translating state-of-the-art ophthalmic care into practical, cost-effective approaches for patient populations across Latin America and the Caribbean.
