Anthony R. Garand has worked in hospital and medical management since graduating from Northeastern University with a Master of Science in Hospital Administration. He has worked at Bascom Palmer Eye Institute in Palm Beach Gardens since relocating from his native New England in late 2007.
His prior experience includes management in private, hospital and academic practices. His background includes program planning and development, utilization of quality improvement and six sigma techniques, as well as human resource and systems management. His previous hospital academic management includes his role as Assistant Vice-President for Support Services at Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary and at the New England Medical Center as Administrator of the New England Eye Center.
In addition to over 20 years in those capacities, he also spent 10 years at Harvard Pilgrim Health Care managing two large practice sites with multiple medical specialties and ancillary services which included over 500 employees and 50,000 members. While he and his wife, Patricia, are full-time Florida residents, Tony maintains his ties to New England through his family including his 3 children and granddaughter and his love of Boston sports.
