Isabel Rams is the executive director of special projects for Bascom Palmer Eye Institute. She is responsible for coordinating and overseeing the ongoing development of critical initiatives and technology improvement projects including vendor management to enhance the performance and efficiency of the Institute.
Her 35+ year experience in the clinical ophthalmology arena has given her a clear concept of patient and physician essentials, clinical flows, and the ever-changing technological advances in the field. Prior to this position, she served as executive director of clinical operations for Bascom Palmer, overseeing the operation of ophthalmic clinical services at multiple Bascom Palmer locations. Under her leadership, the implementation of electronic medical records (EPIC: Kaleidoscope) was accomplished taking the Institute to a more efficient technological advanced paperless world.Isabel earned a BFA with a minor in business administration/marketing and a master's degree in business administration from Barry University. She holds certification in the Lean Six Sigma Green Belt program by the University of Miami.
