Ryan Whidby

Ryan Whidby is the executive director of logistics and process optimization for Bascom Palmer Eye Institute where he is responsible for developing and implementing efficient provider schedules and processes to optimize clinic flow and productivity across all BPEI eye centers. Additionally, Ryan is responsible for introducing innovations, technologies, and enhanced workflows to improve clinic operations while overseeing the Physician Logistics and Specialty Administrative support teams.

Ryan came to Bascom Palmer from the UHealth Department of Information Technology where he served as executive director of business strategy and operations. Prior to joining UM, Ryan held leadership positions at Baylor College of Medicine, LabCorp, Quest Diagnostics, and he served in the US Army as a Combat Medic. He earned a BS in Neuroscience and Microbiology and an MBA from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst as well as a graduate certificate in business analytics from Cornell University. He is certified by the Health Information and Management Systems Society (CPHIMS), has earned a Lean Sigma Black Belt certification (LSSBB), and is certified in multiple Epic EMR modules.
