As a University of Miami Health System greeter/patient liaison, you’ll be the liaison between patients undergoing procedures and their families waiting in our reception area. You’ll also serve as the liaison between the reception desk, clinic staff, and patients.

- Escorting patients to seats in the waiting area after they check in at the desk.

- Alerting staff of any complaints, concerns, or unusual situations.
- Transporting patients via wheelchair and assisting with stretcher transport (always with a staff member) to other floors and test sites.
- Keeping the reception area neat and orderly. This involves keeping magazine racks organized and returning unused magazines and newspapers left around the waiting area.
Sometimes, a UHealth staff member may ask you to complete other tasks, such as:
- Assisting patients with making phone calls
- Making up stretchers
- Obtaining blankets, pillows, and other items
- Offering diversionary activities to patients from the activity cart
- Offering water and/or coffee to patients
