Low Vision Service

Low Vision Service at Bascom Palmer

Low Vision means that even with regular eyeglasses, contact lenses, medicine or surgery, your vision is interfering with daily activities such as reading, cooking, reading labels, or watching television.

Bascom Palmer’s Low Vision Services will work with you on new ways to perform those activities. Many people with low vision are taking charge by using optical and other low vision devices that can help them keep their independence. These include special high-powered eyeglasses with built-in magnification; telescopes, either handheld or built into your eyeglasses; or magnifiers, either handheld or on a stand, with or without a built-in light.
