At the Bronchiectasis and Non-tuberculous Mycobacterial Clinic at the University of Miami Health System, we are dedicated to providing comprehensive care that embodies excellence, compassion and innovation.

Our commitment to care extends beyond the treatment of bronchiectasis and non-tuberculous mycobacterial infections; it encompasses the holistic well-being of our patients. Through personalized treatment plans, we empower people with knowledge and resources to manage their conditions effectively.

Education is at the forefront of our mission. We believe that informed patients are better equipped to navigate their health care journey. Through a collaborative approach, we offer educational resources and support to foster understanding and proactive involvement in treatment decisions.

Research drives our pursuit of excellence. Our team is engaged in pioneering research endeavors aimed at advancing the understanding and treatment of bronchiectasis and non-tuberculous mycobacterial infections. By pushing the boundaries of medical knowledge, we are committed to improving outcomes and enhancing the quality of life of our patients.

Central to our approach is the concept of multidisciplinary care. We recognize that addressing complex medical conditions requires a collaborative effort across specialties. Our clinic brings together a diverse team of experts, including pulmonologists, infectious disease specialists, gastroenterologists, surgeons and respiratory therapists, to provide comprehensive and coordinated care tailored to the unique needs of each patient.

At the Bronchiectasis and Non-tuberculous Mycobacterial Clinic, we are more than just health care providers; we are partners in your journey towards better health. Together, we are dedicated to providing exceptional care, advancing knowledge through research, and empowering our patients to live life to the fullest.

Your care team also includes:

Social Worker Page 1

The social worker plays a crucial role on the team and fills many roles including advocacy, education, collaboration and acts as a liaison for the patient between the medical team and insurance companies.

Dietician Page 1

A dietician plays an essential role on the care team by providing nutritional support and guidance to individuals with bronchiectasis and NTM. They will assess the nutritional status of patients by evaluating their dietary intake, growth patterns, body composition, and overall nutritional health.

Respiratory Therapist Page 1

A respiratory therapist plays an important role on the care team. They are specialized healthcare professionals who focus on the evaluation (pulmonary function tests) treatment (airway clearance, nebulized treatments, oxygen, and equipment), and education and support.

Pharmacist Page 1

A pharmacist is essential to the care team. They will help review all medications, how they are taken, and making sure they do not interact with each other. They are able to help ordering and dosing medications, and are the essential connection between the team and the different pharmacies.

Nurse Practitioner / Nurse / Program Coordinator Page 1

These roles are the centerpiece of the program, keeping all team members on track, helping coordinate with other care team members, answering questions, and getting patients started when coming for a full day of appointments at your care center.

Administrative Assistant Page 1

An administrative assistant is key to schedule your appointments. This is the person who will answer when the patient calls and triage the request to the rest of the team.
