Important Update About Your Medicare Telehealth Visits
Dear Patient,
We are sending you this notice as a follow-up to a notice we sent on February 2, 2026.
We want to give you an important update about Medicare coverage for telehealth visits.
On February 3, 2026, Congress approved funding for the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS). This action restored Medicare coverage for telehealth services provided in your home. Medicare will continue to cover these services through at least December 31, 2027.
Because of this change Medicare will now pay for telehealth visits you had on or after January 30, 2026, even during the short time when coverage stopped.
After December 31, 2027, the federal government and the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) will decide if the rules will stay the same, change, or end.
What It Means for You
- Your Telehealth visits will continue to be covered by Medicare.
- You will not have to pay for telehealth visits from January 31, 2026, to present, other than your usual patient responsibility, (such as copayment, deductible, or coinsurance).
- Our billing team will submit the claim to Medicare for you.
- You do not need to do anything right now.
We know that rule changes can be confusing. We want to make sure you can get care without added concern. We will keep watching for updates to Medicare telehealth policies and will share any changes with you.
If you have questions, please call our billing office at 305-243-2900.
