Dolphins Challenge Cancer
The Dolphins Cancer Challenge (DCC) is the Miami Dolphins' signature philanthropic initiative supporting cancer research and patient care at Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center, part of UHealth and the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine. Founded in 2010, the DCC brings together patients, survivors, healthcare professionals, University of Miami employees, students, and the South Florida community through an annual 5K and cycling events.
Importantly, 100% of participant-raised funds directly support Sylvester. In 2026, DCC XVI included more than 8,600 participants and raised over $18 million, bringing cumulative support for Sylvester to more than $100 million.
Participation in the DCC provides pharmacy residents with an opportunity to engage in the broader mission of UHealth and Sylvester beyond their day-to-day clinical responsibilities. Residents can participate alongside pharmacists, physicians, nurses, patients, survivors, and other members of the healthcare system, reinforcing the importance of interprofessional collaboration, community engagement, philanthropy, and patient advocacy.
