Costs and Timelines
The exact costs and time to receive your written medical second opinion can vary based on your individual case. In general, you can expect the following.
- Cost: $1,500 (no insurance accepted)
- Timeline: You can expect to receive your written medical second opinion report within 72 business hours of completing all required documentation. It may take longer depending on the specialist and any extra review services that may be needed.
Records You’ll Need
Please note that you must submit all records in English. You are responsible for the cost of any translation services that may be needed. We may also request additional records as needed.
Clinical and Other Records Needed
Please plan to submit the following records:
- List of known or current eye conditions/diseases
- Records of latest visual acuity measurements (vision with and without glasses)
- Prescription of latest glasses or contact lens
- Clinical notes and any relevant findings of last eye examination
- Past and last known intraocular pressure measurement (IOP)
- Medications, oral and topical
- Past or current treatments for condition (intravitreal injection type and dates, etc.)
- Pertinent laboratory, pathology, or genetic testing
- All clinical notes, surgical or procedure notes, and/or referral letters for consulting provider or referral letters for consulting provider
Imaging Records and Reports Needed
We will also ask you to provide the latest images WITH reports, depending on the presumptive diagnosis, including:
- Pictures of the eye
- Slit lamp photography
- Confocal microscopy

- Fundus photography (pictures of the back of the eye)
