The mission of the University of Miami RAPID Program is to provide innovative and accessible approaches to infectious diseases prevention and treatment. We are passionate about lowering barriers to pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP), post-exposure prophylaxis (nPEP), and HIV care entry for people living in South Florida. Our team offers trusted care and resources to keep you healthy.
A continuum of care for sexual health
The RAPID program offers a continuum of care for sexual health:
- STI and HIV testing
We provide free and confidential same-day testing for a wide range of STIs with fast results – including immediate results for rapid HIV tests. We also provide treatment for those with positive tests. - PrEP (pre-exposure prophylaxis)
If you are HIV-negative and want to protect yourself from infection, our team can provide the required evaluation, consultation, and prescription for medications to prevent HIV infection. - nPEP (post-exposure prophylaxis)
If you may have been exposed to HIV within the last 72 hours and are worried about infection, medication can provide protection. Our team can provide medical consultation and facilitate access to nPEP medication. - Rapid Entry to HIV Care and Engagement
Our team can provide same-day enrollment into HIV care for those with a new diagnosis or seeking re-engagement. We provide immediate, convenient, and streamlined access to medical care and medication. - Gender-Affirming Services
The GenWell service offers personalized, holistic care for transgender people to enhance mental and physical well-being. We offer gender wellness counseling, prescriptions for feminizing and masculinizing hormones, HIV prevention, and referrals for consultations with surgeons and other specialists.
