Considerate Care Environment
UHealth Clinic at Walgreens is committed to providing safe and welcoming medical clinic settings for all patients, including our pediatric and adult patients with autism and related neurological differences.
We know that seeking medical treatment can be stressful. For individuals with autism, this experience can feel overwhelming and may trigger increased anxiety or an episode of panic.
That's why we've made some changes to our center, welcoming and training our staff in Florida to better serve our diverse patient population.
What does it mean to be an autism-friendly clinic?
CARD (Center for Autism & Related Disabilities) at the University of Miami and Nova Southeastern University has designated the UHealth Clinic at Walgreens as autism-friendly.
This means that our clinic staff and health care providers have been specially trained by the CARD team to better understand and meet the unique needs of our pediatric and adult patients with autism. In addition, we have accessible tools and resources to help patients prepare for their clinic visit and feel comfortable and secure in our clinic settings.
