The Wig Room at Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center offers complimentary wigs, hats, and scarves to cancer patients in active treatment experiencing hair loss or thinning due to chemotherapy or radiation.
One-on-one wig consultations are available to assess your needs, check out our variety of styles and colors of wigs, and explain how to wear and care for a wig.
Wigs today are more realistic and natural looking. You can choose a new look or go with something that is more familiar – whatever makes you feel good. This is a beautiful and fun way to start and go through your new hair journey.
If your preferred wig style is available, wig fittings are done the same day.
Wearing a wig can:

- Make you look great and feel more like yourself
- Change your style
- Lessen your anxiety in social circumstances
If you are not comfortable with wearing or wig, or it is just too hot under our South Florida sun, alternative head coverings like crocheted beanies, scarves and turbans are also available.
Choose from a variety of colors and learn the essentials of how to tie a scarf.
Complimentary wigs are available to our oncology patients at no cost – one free per year during treatment and while you are sustaining hair loss or thinning.
The Wig Room hours vary, so we recommend making an appointment.
