Quality care relies on strong communication between patients and health care professionals. At Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center, we provide free interpreter services so we can help patients from all backgrounds and cultures feel comfortable with their care.
You may need interpreter services if you speak Spanish, Creole, or another foreign language, or you are hearing impaired. When at all possible, UHealth will provide a certified medical interpreter to assist you in our facilities and offices. A certified medical interpreter speaks multiple languages and has knowledge and experience in translating medical terminology.
If a certified medical interpreter is not available, you may use a specialized phone translation system to speak with your doctor at no cost to you.
Patients may access Sylvester’s interpreter services by calling Patient Relations at 305-243-3820 to make an appointment. Interpreters are usually available the next business day.
