Healthy ’Canes Employee Clinic

About the Employee Clinics

The Healthy ’Canes Employee Clinic is a UM Well ’Canes benefit for UM/Aetna eligible full-time and part-time faculty and staff, providing convenient access to UHealth medical services for common illnesses and select immunizations. Visit the clinic, on an appointment basis, for the low cost of $5 per visit (fee is waived for immunizations). Individuals such as dependents, students, temporary/casual, contract workers, or any other status not eligible for UM/Aetna medical coverage, are unable to receive care at the Healthy ’Canes Employee Clinic.

Note, at this time, the clinics are not providing annual physicals or well-woman exams. We apologize for any inconvenience.

If you are experiencing potentially life-threatening symptoms such as chest pain, you should seek treatment in an emergency room.

The clinics are staffed by nurse practitioners, overseen by UHealth physicians. Complex medical conditions such as migraines should be treated with a physician rather than at the clinic.

The clinic will not serve as a replacement for your primary care physician (PCP) relationship. They will not provide review or approval of medical leaves of absence, return to work forms or disability forms. They will not write refills for existing prescriptions.

We are not administering the COVID-19 vaccine at any of our Healthy ‘Canes Clinics or UHealth Clinics at Walgreens locations.

COVID-19 Testing

University of Miami faculty and staff who meet certain criteria may be eligible to receive COVID-19 testing based on exposure history and symptoms. Faculty and staff must call 305-243-ONEU (6638) to be routed for screening and scheduling. Appointments for COVID testing will be scheduled by the testing hotline team. Please do not self-schedule for COVID testing.
