Dr. Carcioppolo’s research program is situated within persuasion and health communication traditions while drawing from other disciplines, including social psychology, public health, and risk analysis. As a whole, his research aims to develop, assess, and advance health communication theory designed to increase the efficacy of preventive health interventions. His research is typically focused on increasing adherence to cancer prevention and screening recommendations by identifying salient attitudinal, belief-based, and normative risk perceptions. .
