Dr. Karp has the following research interests: - Medical and surgical management of conjunctival benign and malignant neoplasms such as ocular surface squamous neoplasia (OSSN), sebaceous carcinoma, conjunctival melanoma, conjunctival lymphoma and conjunctival papilloma - Topical chemotherapy and immunotherapy (interferon, 5-fluorouracil, mitomycin) for the treatment of ocular surface malignancies - Ultra-high-resolution optical coherence tomography (HR-OCT) for the management of ocular surface diseases - Genetic profiling of ocular surface malignancies - Development of tear film diagnostics aiding in the diagnosis of ocular surface neoplasia - The role of inflammation in the development of ocular surface squamous neoplasia - Optical coherence angiography and its role in ocular surface squamous neoplasia - Artificial intelligence and its role in the detection of ocular surface neoplasia
