The Ocular Epidemiology Group (OEG) is a team of researchers interested in documenting the epidemiology of ocular diseases and the consequences of these conditions. This multidisciplinary team is headed by David Lee, Ph.D. and and Byron Lam, M.D., who have collaborated over twenty years to study the epidemiology of sensory impairment using nationally representative data collected by the National Center for Health Statistics (NCHS), with grant support from the National Eye Institute (NEI), the National Institute on Aging (NIA), and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
