One of the main focuses of Dr. Dinh’s laboratory is hearing-related disorders (including radiation and drug ototoxicity, cochlear implantation trauma, and otoprotective agents). Her work revolves around identifying mechanisms of ototoxicity and cochlear neurotoxicity and investigating novel target-directed therapies to preserve hearing. In addition, they are also performing translational research on mechanisms of tumor-mediated hearing loss in vestibular schwannoma and Neurofibromatosis type 2. Dr. Dihn’s team also established primary human vestibular schwannoma cultures and had created a novel xenograft model for vestibular schwannoma, which are essential resources for our research.
