Adolescent and Young Adult (AYA) Program

Adolescents and young adults with cancer have unique needs during treatment. These individuals — ages 15 to 39 — are at the beginning of their adult lives and are getting ready to take on life challenges like having children, maintaining relationships, or completing their education. Through careful treatment planning and comprehensive support, adolescents and young adults with cancer can still achieve these goals with minimal delays.

The Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center, part of the University of Miami Health System, recognizes your needs and challenges as a young adult with cancer. We have developed the Adolescent and Young Adult (AYA) Program to provide comprehensive services and support tailored to you and your stage of life. Our mission is to help you fight cancer, live a healthy lifestyle, find support throughout your journey, and achieve an overall high quality of life.

Through the AYA Program, you’ll have access to cancer care experts and supportive resources to help you manage your health. We give you access to clinical trials, fertility preservation services, support groups, and other services designed to improve your wellbeing now and beyond. Your care team understands the challenges you face and is ready to offer long-term support for a healthy life.
