At the University of Miami Health System, we want you to be able to focus on what’s most important: getting and staying well. We also know that it can be difficult to understand the costs associated with receiving care.

That’s why we want to give our patients pricing information for common services and help them understand these costs. Our price estimator tool (see link below) provides pricing information for 300 standard procedures and services provided at UHealth.

While the costs listed on this site are the standard charges for a procedure, the price you pay may vary greatly. Your actual charge depends on:

  • Your health condition: Costs related to your medical condition, complications, your diagnosis, complexity of treatment, and other factors.
  • Insurance coverage: Each health plan may have a different deductible (the amount you pay before your insurance company pays), out-of-pocket maximum and co-pay. We encourage you to contact your insurance company before receiving care to be sure you understand what you will need to pay.
  • Negotiated charge: A negotiated charge is the reduced amount the hospital has agreed to be paid from your health insurance company for a particular service.
  • Eligibility for financial assistance.

As a result, these price estimates are not a guarantee of what you may pay. The amount you owe will be on your final bill and may be higher or lower than the estimate provided.

Also, physician’s professional charges may not be included in the estimate. This is the amount charged for your doctor’s time. This fee may be sent to you in a separate bill.

The best way to understand what you will pay for care is to work with your insurer and our dedicated Patient Benefit Advisors team.

If your service or procedure, or your insurer, is not included in the price estimator tool, or if you have questions about your estimate, please reach out to our Patient Benefit Advisors team at 305-326-6486.

International Patients
Please contact the UHealth International Office by telephone at 305-243-9100 or via email at uhealthinternational@med.miami.edu or click here for more information.

After you receive your care: You may also request an itemized statement and explanation of charges for services rendered at all locations and financial assistance by calling Patient Financial Services at 305-243-2900.

Frequently Asked Questions About Price Estimates

How is UHealth helping me understand price transparency? Page 1

At the University of Miami Health System (UHealth), we want you to be able to focus on what’s most important: getting and staying well. We are committed to helping you understand the cost of procedures and services at UHealth so that you can make the most informed health care choices possible. That includes giving patients an online price estimator tool and help from our dedicated Patient Benefit Advisors team.

How do I use the price estimator tool? Page 1

Our online price estimator tool helps patients by showing the prices associated with many common procedures and services at UHealth. For an estimate of your costs, simply select the service or procedure, type in the CPT code or keywords, and then select your insurance from the drop-down menu. Our Patient Benefit Advisors team is here to help you understand these estimates and what you can expect to pay for your care.

It’s important to know that this tool is only one way of getting pricing information and that the pricing information provided is only an estimate. There are several factors that determine your cost for the health care services you receive, including your health condition, insurance coverage, negotiated charge (the amount your insurance company has agreed to pay the hospital) and eligibility for financial assistance. Any pricing information provided is not a guarantee of what you may pay. The amount you owe will be on your final bill and may be higher or lower than the estimate provided. The best way to understand what you will pay for care is to work with your insurer and with our Patient Benefit Advisors team which can be reached at 305-326-6486.

Does the price estimator take into account my insurance? Page 1

When using the estimator tool, you may select your insurance company from the drop-down menu for an estimate that is better tailored to your health care needs. You may also choose to not enter your insurance information and select the self-pay option. Please remember that this tool is only one source for pricing information and there are many factors that determine what you will pay for health care services, including your health condition, insurance coverage, negotiated rate (the amount your insurance company has agreed to pay the hospital) and if you can receive financial assistance.

How can I figure out what I will have to pay for care? Page 1

The best way to understand what you will pay for care is to work with your insurer and with our Patient Benefit Advisors team. Our team is here to answer your questions and help you make informed, decisions about your care. Our team can be reached at 305-326-6486.

Where can I get financial assistance with my bill? Page 1
