UHealth volunteers play an essential role in supporting our patients, staff, and visitors. Whether you’re interested in greeting patients, supporting departments, or helping with special projects, UHealth Volunteer Services will help match you with an opportunity that fits your interests and skills. Volunteer Opportunities
We offer a variety of volunteer roles and ensure that you have the information and training needed to make you feel confident as a UHealth volunteer. In addition to UHealth Care orientation, you will receive customer service training, a guided hospital tour, and an introduction to the floors where you will be volunteering. You will also complete training on infection control and other important safety procedures.

Requirements and Commitment
Volunteers must be 18 years of age or older. We ask that all our volunteers commit to at least one 3–4 hour shift a week for one year.
- Complete an application
- Interview
- Meet occupational health requirements
- Complete and pass a background check and drug screening
- Complete mandatory compliance training and UHealth Care orientation
Volunteer Placement
Volunteers are placed according to UHealth’s current needs, your availability, and program-specific requirements. Before you start, you must complete the Volunteer Services compliance requirements and onboarding process.
