From Concept to Implementation
By streamlining processes and offering expert guidance, the OPS helps accelerate discoveries and drive meaningful impact in cancer research.
At the earliest stage of developing a cancer-related concept—whether the form or a draft protocol—the pre-review process is designed to provide guidance and support through:
review form
Oversight Chair Review
SDG Leader Initial Review
- Step 1: Complete the Concept Review Form or provide a draft protocol to Office of Population Sciences Team. To support this process, OPS will coordinate the meeting assignment and assist with preparing the presentation.
- Step 2: Present the Concept Form/Draft protocol to Population Sciences Oversight Chairs for review. They will provide feedback and support as needed and confirm SDG assignment.
- Step 3: Secure a completed, fully endorsed Concept Review Form by the Population Sciences SDG leaders.
Once a concept has completed this pre-review process, our research operations team may further support the project from regulatory management to data management and quality assurance. This support can help reduce investigator workload during protocol development and streamline PRMC and IRB review timelines.
Concept that does not meet the specified criteria may appeal. The purpose of pre-review is to enhance feasibility, statistical rigor, and scientific merit at the early stages of development, while decreasing investigator effort in protocol preparation.
