Research Interest
Dr. Schiff is the Executive Director of the Schiff Center for Liver Diseases running 80 active clinical trials and 35 recruiting trials. He studies new therapeutic approaches for chronic Hepatitis B, as well as effective therapies for patients with primary sclerosing cholangitis (PSC) and primary biliary cholangitis (PBC). He is conducting clinical trials for the study of NASH, a liver disease that resembles alcoholic liver disease but occurs in patients who drink little or no alcohol, trials concerning alcoholic and autoimmune liver diseases, and a longitudinal Fibroscan study to identify patients with worsening fibrosis that may be at increased risk for HCC.
