Vladlen Z. Slepak, Ph.D.
- Graduate Program Director, Molecular and Cellular Pharmacology
- Molecular and Cellular Pharmacology
Dr. Slepak is interested in novel molecular mechanisms of signal transduction, and his primary area of studies involves heterotrimeric (large) G proteins. G protein coupled receptors (GPCRs) are the largest protein family in the body and the target of most pharmaceuticals. Dr. Slepak is excited about novel GPCRs that regulate growth or other functions of cancer cells. He would like to pursue their finding that some members of olfactory GPCR subfamily are expressed in prostate, investigating their potential as pharmacological targets.
