Meet Your Team
Your team includes licensed psychologists that provide different levels of care and support to assist you and your loved ones attend to your mental health. We provide psychotherapy, evaluations, and when requested, letters of support for various procedures.
Elisa Diaz, PsyD
Dr. Elisa Diaz is a licensed psychologist and assistant professor. She is living out her dream of being an educator to future professionals, while also providing psychotherapy to her community. Her clinical interests are in health and chronic illnesses. Dr. Diaz is a proud ally to the LGBTQ community. She has had the privilege of presenting at multiple conferences for the South Florida Southeast AIDS Education and Training Center. She has served as an editorial contributor for the Miami Herald, highlighting the potential consequences of chronic stress and anxiety. Born and raised in Miami, FL, Dr. Diaz speaks Spanish and is learning to speak fluent French.
Maria I Echenique, PsyD

Dr. Maria Echenique completed her undergraduate studies at Duquesne University in Pittsburgh, PA and earned her master’s degree from Columbia University. While completing her clinical studies at Columbia, she grew interested in research and accepted a position as research coordinator at the University of Miami in 2005. While working full time in HIV behavioral health research, Dr. Echenique completed her doctorate in psychology at Albizu University with a specialization in forensic psychology. Dr. Echenique joined the University of Miami faculty as an assistant professor of clinical psychiatry. She is the psychology attending physician for the HIV Women’s clinic, HIV Prenatal Care Clinic, Miami Transplant Institute, Diabetes Research Institute and Program Director of the Univeristy of Miami Miller School of Medicine Medical Student Behavioral Health Program.
