Membership is open to University faculty, staff, students, alumni, partners, and affiliates. We do not charge any annual fees or cancellations fees, nor do we require long-term contracts.
All memberships include the following amenities:
All standard group fitness classes included at no extra cost, such as yoga and studio cycling*
One large and one small towel per visit
Use of the whirlpool, sauna, and steam room
Use of daily lockers (lockers can also be rented on a monthly basis)

Please check here for eligibility requirements. Gables campus employees are required to sign up at the Herbert Wellness Center but will have reciprocity at the UHealth Fitness & Wellness Center.
In addition, all current faculty and staff may enroll in the SHAPEUP rebate program, which rewards qualifying members with a 20% membership rebate each month.
UM faculty and staff may also enroll family members and dependents. Please inquire at the Membership Office for rates.

Full-time Medical and Med-Graduate students will be assessed a fee each semester by Student Accounts. Part-time students (who are not employees) may purchase a semester-long membership via myUM or a month-to-month membership at our Membership Office.

Only 15 credits are required to qualify for the UM Alumni rate! Please bring Alumni Association membership card as proof of status.
All UM Alumni memberships include the following amenities:

Alumni interested in utilizing both the Herbert and UHealth Wellness Centers have to join each facility separately.

Please note, membership must be current at the time of registration to enroll in classes during the registration period and to receive member rates. Registration for classes is only available during published registration dates.
