Research Focus

Dr. Thomas' area of expertise is in viral hepatitis and on the mechanisms by which Hepatitis B and C cause liver disease and hepatocellular carcinoma. To this end, Dr. Thomas is part of the liver disease clinical research team within the Schiff Center for Liver Disease, he has an active viral hepatitis screening program in South Florida and he is also developing advanced models to study liver disease and hepatocarcinogenesis.
