Plastic surgery at the University of Miami Health System, has a long tradition of excellence. Under the leadership of Dr. D. Ralph Millard, world famous cleft and craniofacial surgeon, the program achieved global pre-eminence. We carry on that tradition today with a commitment to quality, excellence, integrity, diversity and inclusion.
We are building cutting edge clinical programs such as, microvascular surgery, lymphatic reconstruction, craniosynostosis treatment, hand surgery, breast cancer reconstruction, aesthetic surgery and more. Today, we teach and train the next generation, and we investigate novel techniques and technologies with an eye toward innovating new therapies.
We offer a full-array of skin services, including cosmetic surgery and reconstruction, restoration, and/or replacement of both congenital (present from birth) and acquired (developed) abnormalities of the skin.
We also work closely with specialists at Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center to treat a wide range of skin cancers and breast reconstruction.
We are proud to be one of only two academic plastic surgery programs in Florida — therefore, we place extra emphasis on training and diversity. Our doctors have the knowledge, skill, and appreciation of both plastic and reconstructive procedures. You can feel confident and comfortable knowing that highly-trained experts are handling your plastic or reconstructive surgery.
