Receiving a cancer diagnosis and undergoing treatment can have an understandable impact on your mental well-being and health. Being told you that “have cancer” deeply affects a person, and sometimes causes feelings of depression, anxiety, and other mental health concerns.
The psychiatry and psychology team at Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center is here to support you and your family as you undergo treatment.
How It Works
You will begin by meeting with a mental health expert who specializes in people undergoing cancer treatment. They will ask you questions about your diagnosis, treatment, current state of mind, and any concerns you may have. Your psychiatrist or psychologist will formulate a customized treatment plan to address your needs and goals.
