The purpose of this K12, the University of Miami Calabresi Clinical Oncology Research Career Development Program, is to identify and help establish new faculty leaders in patient-oriented, clinical cancer research. The program will recruit a diverse group of talented clinical research Scholars for two-year terms and provide them with dedicated time for research, optimal mentorship, formal education, and practical experience in developing hypothesis-driven clinical trials that translate to improved cancer care delivery and patient outcomes. Over the course of the program, Scholars will develop and initiate a clinical protocol and submit grant applications for NIH R01s or equivalent.
