Research Focus

Dr. Kirsner has a doctorate in Epidemiology, and his primary interest related to cancer research is skin cancer epidemiology. He has been involved with studying primary and secondary prevention of skin cancer, the pathophysiology of skin cancer and novel treatments for skin cancer. Currently, his team is evaluating the DNA repair mechanisms in patients with skin cancer, using novel vaccine therapy to prevent and treat skin cancer and evaluating risk factors for skin cancer among high-risk patients and where skin cancer disparities exist.
